Hi friend,

As Legislators are meeting in Olympia to tackle massive budget shortfalls, one thing is clear: If we care about education, childcare, or housing, we can’t sit this one out.

Here’s where things stand:

  • Thanks to activists like you, Initiative 2109—designed to cut taxes for the super-rich while slashing education and childcare funding—was defeated in a landslide vote across Washington. This was a huge win for everyday families and we sent a strong message to lawmakers in Olympia that voters demand investments in vital programs, not cuts.

  • But now, Washington is facing a massive budget shortfall and lawmakers are talking about closing the gap with budget cuts to the programs we just voted to protect.
  • We’re gearing up to STOP these cuts and instead pay for essential services through more fair solutions that like a wealth tax and other options that will help fix our upside- down tax code and ensure Washington’s richest finally pay what they owe our state.

This legislative session will move fast. Hearings and votes can pop up with sometimes just days – or even hours – of notice. That’s why we need you to be ready to act.

SAVE THE DATE: January 16th at 12pm PT

Join us for an Insiders-Only Activist Briefing on January 16th at NOON where we’ll break down the bills we’re tracking, hear directly from Representative April Berg, and share how you can take action to protect Washington families. During the No on I-2109 campaign, we proved what’s possible when we come together. Now, let’s build on that momentum for the next fight.

Thank you for being part of this movement,

In solidarity,

Treasure Mackley
