Legislators in Olympia are meeting Monday and Thursday for hearings on bills that would protect funding for healthcare, education, and housing by fixing our upside down tax code. We’re calling for an all hands on deck push to show legislators that we want these bills passed.
Can we count on you to fill out this form and give us permission to sign you in PRO for all 5 of the bills legislators are discussing? We’ll take it from there and make sure your voice is heard by legislators.
Here’s how each of these bills will help fix our upside down taxcode.
SB 5796 would raise $2.3 billion for health care and education with a payroll tax on big corporations with large executive salaries.
SB 5797/HB 2045 would raise $4 billion for schools with a tax on the super-rich (about 4,300 mega-millionaires) with more than $50 million in stocks and bonds.
SB 5794 would raise $1 billion by closing tax loopholes for special interests such as gold bullion.
HB 2045 would raise $2 billion for education, public safety and other critical services with a tax on the state’s biggest most profitable corporations with $250 million+ in annual profits.
